Job summary

A locally established bookkeeping company in Olney is seeking an Accounts Assistant for a flexible, part-time role of 14 hours a week. Warner Recruitment are excited to be working with a locally established Bookkeeping company/ Accountancy practice in Olney, Buckinghamshire. The company are super friendly and offer flexibility to suit their staff.
The office is open Monday – Thursday 8am – 6pm and 8am – 4pm on Fridays. They are looking for an Accounts Assistant to work on an on-going temporary basis for 14 hours per week. You can structure your hours however you like within these office opening times. Hybrid working also available.

The company are growing and have strong relationships with their customers and take great pride in their work.
We would be delighted to receive applications from candidates with and without Practice Experience. If you have worked on more than one set of accounts at the same time, then this would be advantageous. This role will suit candidates who enjoy working at bookkeeper level; and candidates who may look to further their career.

Accounts Assistant job duties include:

  • Working across multiple clients accounts
  • Ensuring client costs and sales are coded correctly against the nominal codes
  • Recording of time spent on each client account
  • All aspects of Purchase ledger
  • All aspects of Sales ledger
  • Bank reconciliations
  • VAT returns
  • Processing of expense claims
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Dealing with queries

The person:
  • Good communicator and able to speak with clients
  • Available at short notice
  • AAT qualified/ AAT studier (or equivalent)
  • Someone who takes pride in their work
  • Able to commute to the rural office in Olney – this is an office-based role with the potential for hybrid, and not a remote based job
  • Accurate & diligent
  • Able to work to tight deadlines
  • Previous work experience using Xero accounting software
