A prestigious law firm is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team in London. This role involves handling various tasks within accounts payable, requiring at least 6 months experience and proficiency in Excel. The firm offers a competitive salary of up to £30,000 plus benefits and opportunities for career progression within a supportive team.
Company Overview
You will be a joining a very well-established, prestigious and highly regarded Law Firm as their Accounts Assistant on a full-time, permanent basis. Part of a large finance team of over 40, you will report into the Accounts Payable Manager, working closely alongside two Accounts Assistants and two Junior Accounts Assistants in the AP department. Based in their very modern City of London office 3 days a week, you will have the chance to work from home for the remaining 2 days, in line with their hybrid working model which promotes a fair work-life balance.
The Role
In your new role, you will be responsible for dealing with purchase ledger invoices, processing expenses, posting third-party disbursements, preparing/processing counsel fee note reconciliations, reconciling/processing credit card statements, reviewing/processing supplier invoices, monitoring/actioning the AP inbox and resolving both internal and external AP queries. You will assist with the month-end close process including account reconciliations, analyse taxable benefits expenditure and assist with providing training and mentoring for new joiners. You will also have the opportunity to get involved in company-wide projects and initiatives, providing you with exposure to other teams and senior members of the business.
Role Requirements
In order to be considered for this role, you will need to possess at least 6 months - 1 year of experience in Accounts Payable and/or transactional finance duties. You will ideally have previous experience using an Accounts software, and you will be confident with the use of Excel to an intermediate level. You will be able to clearly demonstrate determination to succeed, ambition, focus, drive and a willingness to learn. You will be a proactive, enthusiastic and collaborative individual with an outstanding work ethic and possess the confidence to liaise with stakeholders at all levels across the business. This role will require the use of initiative as you will need to prioritise tasks accordingly, based on timelines and conflicting deadlines.
