Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 AM - 05:30 PM or 08:30 AM - 05:00 PM
Salary: £27,000 - £30,000 per year (depending on experience)

What You'll Be Doing

As an Accounts Assistant, you'll play a key role in managing client accounts and ensuring smooth financial operations. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Handling client queries related to Tax and Accounts
  2. Preparing Accounts up to Trial Balance for finalisation
  3. Building strong client relationships and ensuring top-tier service
  4. Liaising with HMRC for reconciliations and missing payments
  5. Chasing and checking client data for accuracy and completeness
  6. Preparing and submitting VAT Returns & Self-Assessments
  7. Handling Corporate Tax Returns, Payroll, and CIS
  8. Supporting Accounts Finalisation
  9. Identifying client needs and referring them to relevant teams (e.g., Tax Investigation, Mortgage, R&D claims)
  10. Conducting Client Tax Review Meetings
  11. Ensuring compliance with Money Laundering regulations
What We're Looking For
  • AAT qualified or equivalent (mandatory)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an accounting role
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Tax Legislation and Accounting Standards
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
