Job summary

Sharp Consultancy is supporting a Chesterfield business to recruit an Accounts Assistant to strengthen their finance team. The role offers study support, hybrid/flexible working and clear progression opportunities in a supportive environment.

The ideal candidate will have finance or accounts experience, be AAT qualified or studying ACCA/CIMA, and demonstrate strong Excel skills with attention to detail. You will work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• AAT qualification or ACCA/CIMA in progress.
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Balance sheet reconciliations.
• Accruals and prepayments.
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes.
• VAT returns and statutory reporting support.
• Maintaining the fixed asset register.
• Assisting with month-end and year-end processes.
• Supporting transactional finance where required.
• Producing financial reports and analysis for senior management.

The Person:

• Previous experience within a finance or accounts role
• AAT qualified or actively studying ACCA/CIMA
• Strong Excel skills and good attention to detail
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
