Accounts Assistant

Pertemps are currently recruiting for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join a growing distribution business based in Andover. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Responsibilities:
  • Multiple bank reconciliations in multi currencies
  • Maintaining nominal ledgers on Xero
  • Management accounts preparation with accruals, prepayments, and depreciation journals
  • Posting and management of stock purchases
  • Goods in transit
  • Oversee Credit control with intervention where required
  • Managing the integration of the stock control system to Xero with monthly COS adjustments, stock write-off, etc.
  • Bank payments and payment run preparation
  • Weekly Cash flow forecasting and management
  • VAT return preparation, with PVA statements, adjustments
  • Payroll preparation from start to finish and submission to HMRC
  • Pension submissions and management via payroll and portal
  • Annual accounts preparation and liaison with external accountants
  • Interaction with HMRC
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 3 years within an accounts position
  • Previous experience within an SME
  • Strong knowledge of Xero
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Accountancy qualification at AAT level or above
The Accounts Assistant position:
  • Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm
  • Salary between £35,000 - £42,000 depending on experience
  • Staff discount
