Job summary

Clear Legal & Financial Recruitment is assisting an established accountancy practice in Eastbourne to recruit an Accounting Technician. The role covers personal and business client accounts with tax returns and VAT compliance.

Ideal candidates hold AAT or ACA/ACCA qualifications, have practice experience, and can work independently while mentoring juniors. Proficiency in Excel and Xero is desirable.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in accounts and tax returns.
• Proven organisational and time-management abilities.
• Good communication and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sole trader accounts, personal tax returns, company accounts and corporation tax returns.
• Assist with the management of a varied client portfolio.
• Provide VAT compliance and related advice.
• Communicate with clients and colleagues regarding queries, issues and findings.
• Maintain high technical and professional standards.
• Support and develop junior members of the team.
• Work with Xero and other cloud-based accounting systems.
• Manage your own workload and ensure deadlines are met.
• Undertake wider accountancy practice duties as required.
