Accounting Technician - Pembrokeshire County Council
Permanent position with a salary range of £27,269 - £30,060 per annum (subject to pay award)
This is an excellent opportunity to join our Finance Team at Pembrokeshire County Council. We are a busy team, working with all areas of the authority with a net revenue budget of £326.633m (2025-26) and a capital programme of approx. £370m over the Medium Term Financial Plan.
As the Accounting Technician you will assist Finance Managers, Principal Accountants and Senior Accountants in providing effective financial services to the groups various clients.
Reporting to the Principal Accountant, your core duties will include:
- Participate in the budget preparation and final accounts exercises as required by senior staff.
- Correction of miscoding of data and entering budgets on the financial management system
- Analysis of cost data required by senior staff & timely clearance of suspense account items
- Assist in the preparation and completion of grant claim forms.
- Participate in the monitoring of expenditure against budgets, producing various reports as required and acting as contact point for day to day queries from clients
- Operate as an active member of the finance team being managed and supported by the relevant line manager
We currently operate a hybrid working environment providing options for flexibility while still being a key contributor to our team.
