Cadent Gas Ltd. is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join the Totex Finance team at Ansty Business Park. You will lead the monthly financial accounting cycle, analyse performance, and partner with Property and Commercial managers to drive better business decisions.

You will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting and planning, while ensuring strong internal controls and applying IFRS/UK standards. This role offers impactful work within a collaborative finance function.

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA required.
• Strong IFRS/UK accounting standards knowledge.
• Experience in management accounting and reporting.
• Excellent Excel and data analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly management and financial accounting process.
• Provide clear analysis and meaningful insight for decision-making.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and business planning activities.
• Partner with Property, Asset and Commercial Managers to support performance.

Job description

We're looking for an Accounting Specialist to join our Totex Finance team, supporting our Property function from our Ansty Business Park office. This is more than producing reports and managing numbers. You'll help leaders understand financial performance, plan ahead and make informed decisions. Working alongside colleagues across Finance, Property and Commercial teams, you'll provide trusted financial support, challenge where needed, and help drive improvements that make a real difference. If you enjoy combining technical accounting expertise with building strong relationships and solving problems, this is the role for you.

• Financial Reporting - Lead the monthly management and financial accounting process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
• Business Insight - Provide clear analysis and meaningful insight that supports day-to-day and strategic decision-making.
• Financial Planning - Play a key role in budgeting, forecasting and business planning activities across your area.
• Business Partnering - Work closely with Property, Asset and Commercial Managers to support performance and delivery.
• Continuous Improvement - Help improve financial reporting, processes and ways of working across the team.
• Property Recharges - Manage recharge processes and help ensure costs are allocated accurately and consistently.
• Compliance & Control - Support strong financial governance, internal controls and audit requirements.
• Making an Impact - Be part of a team that helps the business understand performance, manage costs and plan for the future. Professional Qualification - ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
• Technical Knowledge - Strong understanding of IFRS and UK accounting standards, including lease accounting.
• Management Accounting Experience - Experience producing financial reports, budgets, forecasts and analysis.
• Excel Expertise - Advanced Excel skills, including financial modelling and working with large datasets.
• Strong Relationships - The ability to build trust and work effectively with colleagues across different teams.
• Analytical Thinking - A curious mindset, strong attention to detail and the ability to turn data into insight.
• Communication Skills - Confidence explaining financial information clearly to non-financial audiences.
• Ownership & Initiative - A proactive approach with a focus on improving processes and finding better ways of working.
