Aviva in Norwich is seeking an Accounting & Control Analyst on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role is based in Norwich with 50% hybrid working and a salary of circa £28,000.

You will support day-to-day accounting and control activities, including preparing journal entries, reconciling transactions and assisting with month-end and year-end processes. You will collaborate with colleagues to gather financial information and contribute to accurate reporting and governance.

Accounting & Control Analyst

This is a great opportunity for someone with an interest in finance, accounting and financial controls who is looking to build their experience in a supportive and collaborative environment. It would suit someone who enjoys working with detail, analysing information and contributing to high-quality financial reporting and control processes.

A bit about the job:

Our Accounting & Control team plays an important role in helping Aviva maintain accurate financial records, strong controls and reliable reporting. In this role, you will support a range of day-to-day accounting and control activities, including preparing journal entries, reconciling transactions and assisting with month-end and year-end processes.

You will work closely with colleagues across the business to gather financial information, support financial reporting and help maintain accurate accounting records. Along the way, you will identify and escalated discrepancies, contribute to continuous improvement activities and support the delivery of good customer outcomes through effective financial control and compliance. This is a varied role that offers excellent exposure to accounting, reporting and governance activities within a large, complex organisation.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

• Experience working with financial data, accounting processes or financial reporting activities, with studying towards a qualification beneficial but not essential.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and investigate discrepancies.
• Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines while working as part of a team.
• Intermediate proficiency in Excel
• A proactive approach to learning, problem solving and continuous improvement.

• Salary circa £28,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
