Job summary

A leading international toy company is looking for an Accountant (Fixed Term) to support statutory accounting and compliance in their Controllership team. The ideal candidate will have an accounting qualification and at least 2 years of experience, particularly in public accounting. Overview

Hasbro European Services provides various services to Hasbro business units in Europe and the Middle East and Africa. We have an opportunity for an Accountant (Fixed Term) to join our Controllership team where they will play an integral role in our Accounting Organization. This role is responsible for supporting the Statutory Accounting and Compliance team, through execution of daily operations with limited supervision. They will be a key contributor to the tax compliance and financial statement compliance processes for various territories.

What You'll Do
  • Prepare statutory filings in accordance with all applicable regulatory requirements and deadlines
  • Draft local statutory financials and US GAAP to statutory adjustments
  • Understand changes in statutory regulations and apply changes in internal policies and procedures to maintain compliance
  • Prepare and review indirect tax filings in accordance with all applicable regulatory requirements and deadlines
  • Understand changes in indirect tax regulations and apply changes in internal policies and procedures to maintain compliance
  • Collaborate with internal/external auditors and regulatory bodies and respond to inquiries
  • Perform and review financial close activities and enable timely and accurate completion of close-related tasks
  • Perform and review account reconciliations and gather proper supporting documentation
  • Perform and review variance analyses to identify discrepancies and ensure financial integrity
  • Own and manage continuous improvement initiatives and enable approved execution plans
What you\'ll bring
  • Accounting qualification ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification (CPA).
  • Minimum 2 years\' accounting experience (public company and/or public accounting experience preferred).
  • Experience of preparing statutory reporting, corporate tax and VAT return preparation.
  • Experience of managing and coordinating external and internal audit.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS, along with a solid understanding of accounting principles, concepts and practices.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize projects, creative problems solve and contribute efficiently and optimally in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with SAP and/or Blackline is preferred.

Note: This position may be hybrid depending on location.
