Bray Accountants, founded in 1978, has grown to become the largest practice in Tiverton, Devon. Due to continued expansion, we are seeking a well-organized individual to join our team on a full-time basis. Our diverse client base spans various industry sectors and turnover sizes.

Accountant:

The person will ideally possess the following:

1. At least 2-4 years of experience within an accountancy practice.
2. ACA, ACCA qualification, or qualified by experience.
3. Experience with electronic accounting packages; proficient in Sage, Xero, and QuickBooks.
4. Conscientious, team-oriented, capable of working under pressure, and able to handle client queries promptly and accurately.

The role

The position involves a varied range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:

1. Compilation and review of accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
2. Preparation of tax returns for individuals, companies, and trusts.
3. Reviewing bookkeeping and VAT returns.
4. Supervising and reviewing work of junior staff.
5. Supporting clients with accounting queries.
6. Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients.
7. Assisting with other value-added services.
