Leading International Investment Bank is hiring an Accountant

Join their team on a 12-month fixed-term contract at their UK branch based in London. Hybrid working (3 days in the office).

Description

Reporting to the Head of Finance and working in a small, close-knit team, the Senior Accountant will:

1. Support the Head of Finance and deputise in their absence.
2. Prepare the Daily P&L with analysis and commentary on variances.
3. Support all regulatory BoE and PRA returns.
4. Prepare financial accounting information in compliance with UK regulatory obligations.
5. Assist in the preparation of Financial Statements and liaise with auditors.
6. Support the preparation of Corporation Tax returns and VAT reporting.
7. Quarterly preparation and submission of VAT returns following VAT rules and guidelines.
8. Investigate, document, and resolve queries related to accounting movements within the London Branch's Trial Balance.
9. Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues as required.
10. Monitor and review all General Ledger Accounts under the Finance Department's responsibility.
11. Ensure departmental procedures are up-to-date, considering system and process changes.

Profile

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous accounting experience within the banking sector.
• Knowledge of banking products and/or regulatory reporting.
• Reconciliation skills.
• Professional qualification: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or qualified by experience.
• Availability to commit to a 12-month fixed-term contract.
• Availability to start in early to mid-June 2025.
• Portuguese language skills (desirable but not essential).
