Hours - Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week

Holiday – 25 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays), increasing by one day per year of service up to a maximum of 28 days

About The Accountant Role

TC Murray and Lamb are seeking an Accountant to join their Gateshead office. Candidates should have previous accountancy practice experience, managing a portfolio of clients and preparing year-end accounts for limited companies, partnerships, sole traders, and LLPs.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing year-end accounts for various business structures
• Supporting junior staff within the team
• Working closely with clients and internal teams, including direct contact with Partners and managers
• Delivering excellent client service
• Preparing management accounts
• Managing workflow and implementing technological solutions in accounting
• Handling VAT returns and bookkeeping for clients
• Assisting with ad-hoc client support

About You

Ideal candidates will have:

• At least 5 years’ experience in an accountancy practice
• ACA / ACCA qualification or qualified by experience
• Good knowledge of Xero and cloud accounting
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• A proactive and positive attitude
