Job summary

Warner Recruitment Ltd. is seeking an experienced finance professional for a flexible, project-based assignment in Wellingborough. The role focuses on compliance, audit and process improvement within the finance function, reporting to the Finance Director.

Suitable for candidates with ACA/ACCA/CIMA, AAT or equivalent or strong QBE finance experience. The temporary role runs for approximately 4-8 weeks with flexible part-time hours (1–3 days per week) during office hours, to deliver accurate

Responsibilities

• Reconciling retention payments, identifying amounts paid and outstanding.
• Assisting with a VAT-focused project, reviewing records and supporting compliance activities.
• Supporting a GDPR project, ensuring finance records and processes align with requirements.
• Assisting with risk assessment reviews and documentation.
• Supporting with audit project, gathering information and reconciling financial data.
• Producing accurate reports and findings for senior management.
• Working closely with the Finance Director to deliver project objectives within timescales.

Are you an experienced finance professional looking for a flexible, project-based assignment? We are supporting a well-established business in Wellingborough that requires additional support within the finance function to assist with a number of important compliance, audit and process improvement projects. Reporting to the Finance Director, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accountant, whether professionally qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), AAT qualified or QBE. The successful candidate will enjoy investigating and resolving discrepancies, reconciling accounts, bringing records up to date and ensuring financial accuracy.

Temporary Finance Project Accountant (Part Time)

Key Responsibilities

• Reconciling retention payments, identifying amounts paid and outstanding
• Assisting with a VAT-focused project, reviewing records and supporting compliance activities
• Supporting a GDPR project, ensuring finance records and processes align with requirements

About You

We would be pleased to hear from candidates who have:

• Previous experience within a finance, accounting or audit-related role
• AAT qualification, professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent), or strong finance experience gained through practice (QBE)
• Excellent reconciliation and analytical skills

The Opportunity
