Job summary

Oakhill Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Assistant Accountant on a fixed-term basis through to 30 April 2027. The role focuses on live project accounting, reporting on projects, maintaining project ledgers and posting entries that manage capital spend.

The ideal candidate will have AAT study or a relevant degree, some finance experience, and solid Excel skills. There is a proactive, can-do environment with opportunities to develop in ACCA/CIMA paths.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting project accounting processes and reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Report on projects and maintain project ledgers.

Assistant Accountant - Fixed-Term to April 2027

If you want your next finance role to be about live project accounting rather than routine ledger work, this is worth a look.

You'll join a busy finance team supporting a growing organisation's project accounting - helping to report on projects, maintain project ledgers, and post the accounting entries that keep capital spend under control.

There's real variety here too: coding and batching contractor invoices, investigating supplier rebate claims, supporting asset depreciation and reconciliations, and getting involved in audit queries. It's a genuinely broad seat for someone early in their career who wants exposure beyond routine transactional finance.

What you'll need:

• AAT studier, or a graduate with a relevant degree
• Some experience in a finance role
• Intermediate Excel skills
• A fast learner with a proactive, can-do approach and a genuine interest in developing further

Nice to have: you've started ACCA or CIMA study, worked in a larger organisation, or used D365 / Microsoft Dynamics.
