Job summary

Sewell Wallis Limited in Doncaster is seeking a Senior or Semi-Senior Accountant to join a well-established practice. You will handle year-end accounts for sole traders and limited companies, and prepare self-assessment and corporation tax returns.

You’ll use Xero, QuickBooks, Sage and TaxCalc to produce management accounts, enjoy hybrid working and flexible hours, and benefit from 25 days of leave plus bank holidays and a company pension.

Qualifications

• Experience as accounts semi-senior or senior in practice.
• Audit experience is desirable though not required.
• Proficient with TaxCalc, Sage, Xero and QuickBooks.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Proactive problem solving and accuracy.

Sewell Wallis are working with a well established accountancy practice based near Doncaster, South Yorkshire, who have an opportunity for a Senior or Semi-Senior Accountant to join their supportive team. What will you be doing?

• Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders & limited companies.
• Preparing self-assessment and corporation tax returns
• Preparing management accounts using accounting software such as Xero and QuickBooks

What skills are we looking for?

• Proven work experience as an accounts semi-senior or senior accountant within a practice
• Audit experience is desirable but not essential.
• Proficiency in using accounting software like Taxcalc, Sage, Xero, and QuickBooks
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with various clients and staff
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy
