ACCOUNTANT - ESTABLISHED FIRM OF ACCOUNTANTS - OFFICES IN BOURNEMOUTH & POOLE - STARTING SALARY FROM £35,000 DOE - PERMANENT POSITION

Carlton Young specialise in the recruitment of Accountancy & Finance professionals. Set up utilising the skills of a highly experienced recruiter and a fully qualified chartered accountant, we have the recruitment skills and industry know-how to bring applicants and businesses together, helping business thrive and improving lives.

We have been appointed by a well-established Accountancy Practice with offices in Bournemouth and Poole for an Accountant to join their team. Currently employing circa 15 team members across 2 offices, due to an increased volume of new business, they are looking for someone to join and take control of an established client bank.

You will be responsible for:

  1. Managing a portfolio of clients across a variety of industry sectors, including attending client meetings and building strong relationships.
  2. Handling all aspects of accountancy, including preparing and submitting all tax and VAT returns, year-end accounts, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  3. Providing proactive advice and guidance to clients to help them achieve their business goals.
  4. Identifying opportunities to add value through additional services.
  5. Ensuring deadlines are met and maintaining high standards of client service.

To succeed in this role, you will:

  1. Be ACA/ACCA qualified or part-qualified, with relevant experience in a practice environment.
  2. Have a strong understanding of VAT, statutory accounts, and compliance processes.
  3. Demonstrate excellent client management skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport.
  4. Work on your own initiative and manage your own work flow.
  5. Be highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  6. Have experience using relevant accountancy software and systems.

This is a well-established independent business who have a loyal and hard-working team and are looking for someone who can fit into a friendly team environment.

  • Based on experience there is an initial salary offer from £35,000 upwards.
  • Potential for development into a senior leadership role.
  • Potential hybrid working (working from either Poole or Bournemouth offices is available).
  • Support towards professional qualifications.
