Accountant – Belfast

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week with hybrid working

Holiday: 23 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays), increasing by one day per year of service (up to a maximum of 5 days)

About the Accountant role

We have an exciting opening for an Accountant in our Outsourcing division.

Our Outsourcing division is a key part of our growth. It includes a team in Northern Ireland working with a larger team in India, offering boundless opportunities and variety. The role requires technical strength, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

This role is similar to a general practice accountant but offers unique opportunities for progression. It suits an ambitious, technically skilled all-rounder with strong practice experience and leadership qualities.

This is a hybrid role with occasional international travel.

Key responsibilities of an Accountant:

1. Managing, supporting, and training an international team providing accounting support to clients
2. Preparing and finalising year-end accounts and corporation tax returns for various entities
3. Reviewing bookkeeping, management accounts, and VAT returns
4. Delivering excellent client service
5. Involvement in workflow implementation and management
6. Driving technological solutions in accounting

About you –

We are looking for candidates with:

• Qualified accountant (CAI/ACCA/ICAEW)
• Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in an accountancy practice
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Great attention to detail and organisational skills
• Proactive, self-starter with a positive attitude
• Experience with CCH, QuickBooks, Xero, and Sage is advantageous
• Knowledge of payroll is beneficial
• Leadership qualities and experience
