Job summary

Cameron Clarke Associates t/a talent-finder is seeking an experienced Accountant for a full-time role based at their Barking, London premises. You will manage day-to-day accounts and report to the Managing Director, supporting financial decision-making.

Key duties include ledgers management (sales, purchases and nominal), monthly reconciliations, preparation of management accounts, and overseeing the accounts function within the business.

Qualifications

• Several years of accounting experience.
• Experience working independently and taking responsibility for day-to-day accounting.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Reliable, organised and hands-on with attention to detail.

Accountant | Barking, London | Full Time | £44,000-£46,000 per annum

Our client is a London-based African Foods Wholesaler who has an exciting position available for a full-time Accountant based at their premises in Barking, London.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting function and will report directly to the Managing Director.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the sales, purchase and nominal ledgers


• Monthly reconciliations of all accounts


• Prepare all Management Accounts for the Director


• Oversee and support the accounts function within the business


• Work with and support other members of the team


• Provide useful financial information to help management make decisions


• Take ownership of the accounts function

Requirements

Essential

• Several years of relevant practical accounting experience


• Experience working independently and taking responsibility for the day-to-day accounting function


• Good attention to detail


• Reliable, experienced, organised and hands-on


• Ability to take ownership of the accounts function


• Excellent communication skills

Desirable

• Experience within wholesale, FMCG, food distribution or a similar industry


• Good experience with Xero


• Relevant accounting qualification such as AAT, ACCA, CIMA or ACA


• Experience with other accounting systems will be considered if the candidate is confident with accounting software and can adapt quickly to Xero
