Qualifications

• ACA/CIMA/CIPFA/ACCA/ACMA or equivalent accounting qualification
• Proven experience across financial management, accounting and financial reporting
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret financial information
• Experience or knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting or financial compliance

Responsabilités

• Provide support to Accounting Managers across financial management, reporting, compliance and team development.
• Maintain robust and accurate financial records, contributing to the preparation of financial statements and management accounts.
• Review and analyse financial information to support effective decision-making across the organisation.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, treasury activities and the management of financial risks.
• Support the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures, providing financial advice to relevant stakeholders.
• Take ownership of a designated area, such as Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Capital Accounting or Treasury Accounting, depending on your skills and experience.
• Work closely with colleagues across the Finance function, gaining valuable exposure to a variety of accounting disciplines.

MCS Group are delighted to be partnering with a leading public sector organisation in their search for an Interim Accountant on an 14-month basis. This opportunity would suit an experienced finance professional looking to broaden their accounting experience, working across a range of key finance functions while contributing to the ongoing development of the organisation's financial services.

The Role:

• Provide support to Accounting Managers across financial management, reporting, compliance and team development.
• Maintain robust and accurate financial records, contributing to the preparation of financial statements and management accounts.
• Review and analyse financial information to support effective decision-making across the organisation.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, treasury activities and the management of financial risks.

The Person

The successful candidate will bring the following skills and experience:

Essential:

• Relevant accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, CIPFA, ACCA, ACMA or equivalent).
• Proven experience across financial management, accounting and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial information and contribute to informed decision-making.
• Experience or knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting or financial compliance.
