Hutcheon Mearns are delighted to be exclusively recruiting for an Accountant for a leading global consultancy firm. This is a full time, staff position and will be based from our client’s offices in Aberdeen City Centre. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant looking for a step up into a growing international organisation who can offer an excellent salary, hybrid working and flexibility.

The Opportunity

The Accountant will play a pivotal role in the global financial operations in the Group. You will be responsible for a detailed profit/margin analysis, financial reporting, P&L analyses, and update/correct accounting entries. Duties will include:

• Revenue/expenditure recognition
• Reconcile intercompany asset/liability accounts
• Payroll Journal Entries
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
• Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes
• Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying and explaining variances
• Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic planning and decision-making
• Liaise with ‘in-country’ external CPAs/Accountants to ensure accurate and compliant financial
• practices
• VAT returns

Background and experience

The successful candidate will have proven experience in a similar role and good knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS. You will have advanced excel skills and have experience with financial modelling.
