Job summary

Austin Rose is recruiting an Accountancy Manager for a brand-new Birmingham hub. You will lead a team delivering compliance and advisory services to owner-managed businesses and oversee client relationships across a growing Midlands market.

You should be ACA/ACCA qualified with proven leadership and business-development abilities, and you will work closely with Partners on strategic client advisory projects and cloud accounting transformations.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead an Accountancy team, overseeing the end-to-end delivery of comprehensive compliance and advisory services.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses with average turnovers ranging from £2 million to £15 million.
• Actively recruit, coach, and mentor junior team members into accomplished, commercial business advisors.
• Work closely with Partners to drive business development, expand regional market share, and cross-sell specialist firm services.
• Monitor accounting marketplace developments to maintain modern, efficient, and highly competitive service delivery.

As an Accountancy Manager you will:

• Review management & financial accounts, VAT returns, corporate tax returns, and digital cloud accounting solutions.
• Build strong relationships with local business networks and prospective clients across the Midlands market.
• Lead team performance reviews, personal development plans, and technical training initiatives.
• Maintain oversight of portfolio profitability, job recovery rates, and service efficiency.
• Collaborate directly with Partners on strategic client advisory projects and cloud accounting transformations.
