Job summary

Durham County Council is seeking an Accountancy Assistant within the Children and Young People’s Finance Service to provide finance support for Early Years Funding and High Needs Funding.

The role is permanent and involves working with registered Early Years Settings, producing monthly reports, supporting budget processes, and providing financial advice across the CYPS service. Hybrid working arrangements are available where applicable.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent OR Level 2 qualification required.
• Experience in a busy finance environment/finance support role desirable.
• Willingness to work towards AAT qualification.

Responsibilities

• Support Early Years Settings with funding advice and guidance on regulations and system developments.
• Produce monthly reports detailing High Needs Funding for Education Settings.
• Assist in annual revenue budgets, budgetary control, and final accounts close down.
