Job summary

Durham County Council’s Finance Team is seeking an Accountancy Assistant to support the Early Years Funding and High Needs Funding teams. The role is permanent and sits in a busy finance function providing day-to-day financial advice and information.

You will work with registered Early Years Settings and support them with funding guidance on new regulations and system developments, producing monthly reports and helping with revenue budgets and year-end close.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or Level 2 qualification with relevant finance experience.
• Commitment to working towards AAT qualification.

Responsibilities

• Provide finance support to the Early Years Funding and High Needs Funding teams.
• Assist in producing monthly Education Settings reports detailing High Needs Funding.
• Contribute to annual revenue budgets, budgetary control information and final accounts closedown.
• Carry out routine reconciliations and general ledger maintenance.
