IMCD UK is based in Sutton, Surrey, and employs over 230 people. Representing major producers, IMCD salespeople are market focused technical experts who offer solutions for customers’ problems utilising the comprehensive and complementary product portfolio. The purpose of the role is to help develop and grow existing business within the UK and Ireland Plastics Convertor Industry, focussing mainly on the medical sector but support for the industrial sectors will be required. Managing a wide range of new product lines and identfying Key Customer targets you will be working closely with International Market Managers within the IMCD Advanced Materials Group Network.
Your responsibilities at IMCD:
• To develop a strategy in line with budget expectations
• To establish and develop commercial and technical activity with UK and Ireland medical and industrial moulders. Expected split 70% medical:30% industrial.
• Identifying and canvassing new Customer and Principal targets
• Developing and managing a comprehensive product portfolio for existing and new product lines
• Working alongside European Affiliates to realise group strategy
• To handle product enquiries and business opportunities, and to contact customers directly
• To monitor relevant sales to ensure that the correct level of profitability is maintained
• To ensure that all price increases are implemented on time, and in accordance with our processes
• To seek and follow through new business opportunities at accounts, and prioritise these accordingly
• To fully update CRM and pipeline platforms ensuring digital optimisation.
• To support existing activity at design houses.
• Any other ad hoc tasks as required
Ideal Candidate:
• Have a strong technical and commercial background, ideally gained through experience within the UK and Ireland Plastic Convertor Market
• Previous experience within medical sector is desirable.
• Be academically qualified with a degree in polymer chemistry or related subject or minimum of 5 years relevant experience
• Be self-motivated, disciplined, and comfortable working from home, expected travel commitment 40-60%.
• Driving licence is essential.
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt to a range of personality types
• Be driven by the need to achieve sales growth and have a persistent approach when faced with difficulties and challenges
