Salary: Starting from £35,000.00 (depending on experience) + benefits

About the role

Lloyd & Whyte, part of Benefact Group, is seeking an Account Handler to join our Community Broking team in Exeter.

Key responsibilities
  1. Achieve individual objectives and KPIs.
  2. Provide holistic insurance reviews, identify and promote related products for both new and existing clients.
  3. Meet new business and retention targets, service KPIs, and workflow standards.
  4. Maintain comprehensive diary and activity logs.
  5. Manage client relationships as required.
  6. Arrange client meetings via video or in person.
  7. Represent the company professionally at exhibitions.
  8. Share market information and trends with your line manager.
  9. Collaborate with teams to maximize client opportunities.
  10. Support team development through coaching and ensuring procedures are followed.
  11. Promote a culture of customer focus and 'Treating Customers Fairly.'
  12. Assist in team competency sign-offs and assessments.
  13. Review and improve processes and systems.
  14. Maintain technical knowledge of products, trends, and underwriting guidelines.
  15. Underwrite scheme policies according to guidelines.
  16. Support complaints handling and ensure compliance.
  17. Ensure proper collection of client money and timely claims processing.
  18. Research new insurance products and introducers.
  19. Refer issues outside your expertise to colleagues or managers.
Knowledge, skills, and experience
  1. Demonstrate values of fun, support, professionalism, partnership, and ambition.
  2. Motivate through coaching and training.
  3. Build rapport confidently over the phone.
  4. Work in a regulated, compliant environment.
  5. Be organized, resourceful, and deadline-driven.
  6. Have attention to detail and be proactive.
  7. Be IT literate and analytical.
  8. Hold or be willing to work towards Chartered Insurance Institute Certificate in Insurance.
