Job description

We’re working with a growing international EdTech company that is expanding its UK sales team.

They’re looking for an Account Executive who enjoys building relationships, understanding what customers really need and turning good conversations into new business.

You’ll work with schools and Multi Academy Trusts across the UK, speaking with people ranging from teachers and school leaders to Trust executives and senior decision makers.

This is a full cycle sales role, so you’ll have ownership of your territory from prospecting through to closing.

You won’t be handed a rigid sales script. You’ll have support from an experienced commercial team, while also having the freedom to test ideas, learn what works and develop your own approach.

Some of the activities successful AEs in this role do:

  • Building and managing your own pipeline
  • Prospecting into schools and Multi Academy Trusts across the UK
  • Running discovery calls and product demonstrations
  • Managing opportunities from the first conversation through to contract
  • Building strong relationships with teachers, school leaders and Trust leadership teams
  • Understanding each customer’s educational, digital and commercial priorities
  • Managing pricing and commercial conversations
  • Attending education conferences, events and networking opportunities
  • Visiting schools and customers across the UK
  • Working closely with Sales, Customer Success and Product teams
  • Keeping your pipeline and forecast accurate

We're encouraging you to apply if you have around two or more years of B2B sales experience within SaaS, software, technology or EdTech.

Experience selling into schools, Multi Academy Trusts or education would be useful, but it isn’t the only route into this role.

This is a great opportunity for you as long as you:

  • Enjoy building relationships and winning new business
  • Want more ownership of your sales process and territory
  • Can create your own opportunities rather than relying only on inbound leads
  • Build trust with different types of people
  • Feel comfortable speaking with both classroom practitioners and senior leaders
  • Are curious and ask good questions before jumping to a solution
  • Want to understand why deals move forward and why they sometimes don’t
  • Can talk confidently about budgets, pricing and commercial priorities
  • Enjoy meeting customers and building relationships face to face
  • Want to keep developing your sales skills
  • Are open to direct feedback and coaching
  • Can challenge a customer’s thinking when it helps them make a better decision

You don’t need to be an expert in a particular sales methodology. The team provides training but it's great if you have some understanding of structured sales methodologies.

If you meet most of the criteria but not every single point, we’d still encourage you to apply.

What success looks like

You’ll take time to understand the organisations you’re targeting, their priorities and the people involved in the buying decision.

You’ll know why an opportunity is progressing, what might stop it and what needs to happen next.

You’ll be commercially ambitious and motivated by your earning potential, while understanding that long term success in education sales comes from trust, credibility and strong relationships.

The role gives you the chance to build on your existing sales experience, take more ownership and develop into a stronger commercial professional.

Package

OTE: Approximately £80,000

Commission: Uncapped

The £30,000 variable element represents expected earnings when you hit target. There’s no cap on commission if you exceed it.

The package also includes company benefits and opportunities to join international company events.

Location and travel:

This is a London based role with five days a week in the office.

You’ll also spend time meeting customers, visiting schools and attending education events across the UK, typically around one day each week.

Some weeks may involve more travel depending on customer meetings and events.

You don’t need to tick every box to have a conversation with us.

If you’ve built a solid foundation in B2B sales and you’re ready for more ownership, stronger earning potential and the chance to develop your career within EdTech, we’d like to hear from you.

Inclusive hiring

RecruitHer partners with organisations that champion inclusive hiring and fair access to opportunity.

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, identities and lived experiences, including people of all sexes, gender identities, races, ethnicities, ages, disabilities, religions, sexual orientations and socioeconomic backgrounds.
