About the Role:

The Role: Account Director Sustainability

The Team:

The Account Director Sustainability plays a critical role in deepening our sustainability relationships with existing clients and expanding our market coverage. The team focuses on understanding clients' sustainability needs across Financial Institution and Corporate segments and coordinating across all S&P Divisions to deliver comprehensive solutions supporting their sustainability goals. Additionally, the team proactively engages with market participants to increase our visibility, especially among intermediaries and influencers for our solutions. The individual will define and execute the strategy for a specific territory and existing client portfolio.

The Impact:

Reporting to the Europe Lead for Account Directors, you will work on global, multi-stakeholder deals, engaging with diverse companies within a defined territory. You will seek new relationships with stakeholders in relevant departments of financial institutions and corporates, transforming S&P Global's industry interactions on sustainability. Success in this role requires navigating complex client relationships and organizational structures.

Responsibilities:
  • Partner with marketing and business leaders to craft customer-centric value propositions for our sustainability solutions.
  • Work with stakeholders in Sustainable1, including Client Engagement, Sales, Marketing, and Market Insights to develop a comprehensive territory plan for commercial success.
  • Collaborate with other divisions sharing mutual clients and goals, such as Market Intelligence and Energy Transition teams.
  • Drive the commercial success of sustainability offerings in your territory, overseeing planning, relationship building, and account management, with support from colleagues.
  • Maintain a long-term, integrated perspective while achieving short-term revenue targets and forecasts.
  • Identify opportunities for revenue growth by leveraging existing products and integrating customer feedback, with a focus on cross-selling.
  • Enhance customer experience and retention targets.
  • Stay connected with the market to incorporate broad needs into product development.
  • Act as a brand ambassador by communicating our sustainability value proposition at industry events and with influencers.
  • Manage a defined book of existing accounts and oversee multiple complex projects.
What We're Looking For:
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are advantageous.
  • Ability to communicate the company's vision and revenue strategy effectively across functions.
  • Experience in sustainability and/or SaaS enterprise sales or account management, with a focus on solution selling and large deals.
  • Proven success in retaining business within corporates and financial institutions.
  • Skills in leveraging customer, market, and competitive intelligence.
  • Exceptional communication skills and experience in a global matrix environment.
  • Ability to translate customer needs into product requirements and lead support strategies.
  • Strategic and operational mindset with strong planning and reporting skills.
  • Decision-making skills under imperfect information.
  • Technical proficiency with Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and other tools.
  • Strong negotiation skills for closing strategic deals.
  • Entrepreneurial approach with grit, creativity, and persistence.
  • Excellent presentation, storytelling, and interpersonal skills for executive audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
