Role: Account Director | Department/Team: Connections Planning

Role Objective

We are recruiting an exceptional and driven Account Director to join our Connections Planning team. You will work on the Ford account in the UK, one of the biggest auto advertisers and accounts at Mindshare. Our full-service model involves close collaboration with creative and account management teams within the Ford agency structure, primarily with VMLYR.

We promote a fully integrated team approach across media, creative, and client teams, working across three locations: 2 days (Mon-Tue) at Ford’s Dunton office (taxi from Shenfield, travel costs covered), 1 day (Wed) at VML Sea Containers House, and 1 day (Thu) at Mindshare Rose Court.

About the Role

Your daily responsibilities will include planning innovative campaigns, working with channel specialists to ensure plan delivery, defining audience strategies, managing plans and budgets, and supporting creative delivery.

  • Focus on driving sales with performance-oriented plans, ensuring objectives are met.
  • Build and target audiences in addressable and non-addressable media, validating reach at required scale.
  • Design connection strategies outlining how and where to engage audiences.
  • Collaborate with channel specialists to design the connections ecosystem and plan.
  • Manage campaigns daily, acting as a liaison between clients and channel teams.
  • Develop measurement and testing frameworks for campaign optimization.
Required Experience and Knowledge
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with clients and agency teams at all levels.
  • Ability to ensure clear, measurable client objectives and effective briefs.
  • Expertise in audience insight translation and planning tools.
  • Experience in building and validating audience targeting strategies.
  • Ability to design media connection approaches and collaborate with specialists.
  • Campaign management and client communication skills.
  • Line management experience of junior team members.
  • Contribute to departmental collaboration and knowledge sharing.
