A leading company in telecoms and utilities is seeking an experienced Account Director to drive profitable revenue through relationship management and strategic account growth. This permanent, full-time role offers hybrid working opportunities and emphasizes collaboration across teams. Ideal candidates will have a robust track record in business development, especially within the utilities sector, and possess excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Base location: Perth/Glasgow with hybrid working

What is the role?
Building on our current success within our Utilities vertical, we are looking for an experienced Account Director to deliver profitable revenue through developing our utilities accounts
The successful candidate will:
Have demonstrable experience in building relationships & delivering outcomes for Clients.
Find, develop, and win profitable revenue within Account.
Ensure all financial targets are achieved with focus on profitable revenue.
Demonstrate experience of delivering successful management of Utilities Clients, ideally that operate in the UK.
Support the delivery teams to ensure all contract revenue is delivered as planned and within customer timescales.
Have experience in working across and influencing at C-level.
What other experience is desired?
Collaborating with senior account directors, product management and marketing to ensure that the features, benefits, positioning, and pricing are thoroughly understood by target customers.
Working with deal sizes can range from tens of thousands to multi million pounds and you will be expected to be comfortable working with customers across a broad spectrum of opportunities of various types.
Be a confident and tenacious salesperson with a firm grasp on the UK Telecoms market, with Utilities business development experience and a knowledge of current trends, competitor positioning, market dynamics and developments.
Knowledge and understanding of Energy customers, frameworks and customer behaviours is essential.
A good understanding of working within a large matrixed environment to deliver high value proposals and solutions to customers.
Responsibilities:
Ultimate responsibility for the delivery of all personal KPIs and targets & responsibility for customer NPS performance
Full understanding of Neos Networks’ go to market propositions, creating tailored value propositions for customers and prospects
Developing clear pursuit and/or account plans to meet the growth objectives (with relevant stakeholder engagement across Marketing, Operations, Delivery, Commercial and Sales Management)
Skills and Experience:
Demonstrable track record of Strategic Selling/Business Development/Account Management
Ability to influence at both day to day/operational and C Level & to build effective cross-functional working relationships
Drive and define timescales and influence client decision making processes
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Self-motivated, enthusiastic and professional with first class presentation skills
Good understanding of telecoms & Utilities market
Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
IT literate – MS Office, CRM, GIS etc
