This role operates primarily on a remote working arrangement that will require little to no travel into our Coventry head office. Our working model arrangements are a non-contractual benefit so please note that an Arden work location is added to our employment contracts.This role will be based full time from our Coventry head office.

About the Opportunity:

The Access and Participation Administration Officer will provide effective administrative support to the Access and Participation team while working closely with key stakeholders across the University to support the delivery of Access and Participation priorities and strategic interventions.

  • The role requires managing and monitoring various commitments, balancing conflicting workloads to meet Access and Participation demands and deadlines.
  • Effective time management and the ability to respond positively to unexpected demands are crucial.
  • The Access and Participation Administration Officer will utilise Microsoft tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for administrative tasks and demonstrate a high degree of digital and data literacy, continuously developing skills in line with the University's evolving direction.Additionally, this role will monitor merchandise stock levels and organise the distribution of materials as and when required.
  • By providing comprehensive administrative support, the Access and Participation Administration Officer ensures the smooth and efficient operation of the team’s functions, contributing to the successful implementation of strategic initiatives and fostering a collaborative environment within the institution.
About You:
The Access and Participation Administrator Officer provides high-quality administrative support to the Access and Participation team and works collaboratively with stakeholders across the University to ensure the delivery of strategic Access and Participation priorities. The role involves managing multiple commitments, meeting tight deadlines, and responding proactively to changing demands.

This role is central to ensuring the smooth, efficient functioning of the team and contributes directly to the implementation of initiatives and the creation of an inclusive, collaborative environment.

Essential requirements:

  • Educated to A-Level standard (or equivalent), with GCSE English and Maths (Grade C or above)
  • Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work under pressure
  • High level of digital and data literacy with willingness to develop further
  • Experience supporting teams with tasks such as meeting planning, minute-taking, and data management
  • Professional handling of sensitive and confidential information
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
  • Able to work independently and take initiative
  • Willingness to travel to Arden University sites to monitor merchandising stock levels and contribute in team meetings
  • Desirable requirements:

    • Experience working in a similar role in higher education or a UK educational institution
    • Understanding of GDPR and data protection requirements
    • Familiarity with SharePoint, Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs)Knowledge of current issues in UK higher educationand peer-to-peer digital platforms
    • Experience supporting geographically distributed teams
    • Formal IT qualification
