Randstad Education is seeking enthusiastic Academic Tutors specialising in Maths, Science, English, or Geography to join Harris Academy Rainham in Rainham, Essex. Starting in November 2026 (or earlier) through May 2027, this full-time temporary role is ideal for recent graduates to gain classroom and school experience.

Deliver tutoring sessions in lower school (and potentially sixth form), plan structured interventions, assess progress, and collaborate with teachers to align with curriculum

Formación

• Specialism in Maths, Science, English, or Geography (ability to offer a secondary subject is a plus!)
• Ideal for recent graduates or aspiring teachers seeking school experience
• DBS: An enhanced child DBS on the Update Service (a full copy of the certificate must be provided)

Responsabilidades

• Delivering targeted small-group or 1:1 tutoring sessions in your subject specialism across lower school (and potentially sixth form)
• Planning and delivering structured interventions to help students raise their attainment and build academic confidence
• Assessing student work, tracking progress, and providing constructive feedback
• Adapting tutoring strategies to support pupils of all abilities, including those with SEN
• Creating a positive, supportive, and stimulating learning environment
• Collaborating with class teachers and department heads to align tutoring with current curriculum goals

Daily Rate DOE (AWR compliant after 12 weeks)

Requirements:

• Specialism in Maths, Science, English, or Geography (ability to offer a secondary subject is a plus!)
• Ideal for recent graduates or aspiring teachers seeking school experience
• Reference History: Minimum 2 years of continuous employment/academic references (character reference required for any gaps exceeding 90 days in the last 2 years)
• DBS: An enhanced child DBS on the Update Service (a full copy of the certificate must be provided)
• Address History: Full 5-year address history
• Training: Willingness to complete mandatory E-Learning modules prior to placement
• Right to Work: Valid Right to Work in the UK (Essential - sponsorship is not available for this role)
