Job summary

Queen Elizabeth High School in Hexham is seeking a dedicated role to support students with SEND/SEMH needs and to deliver targeted English assistance in Years 9–11. You will work in the Inclusion Workroom, helping students access curriculum work, develop independence and overcome barriers to learning.

The successful candidate will build strong relationships with students, parents and staff, delivering calm, structured support to promote engagement and positive progress across the curriculum.

About this Role

Working under the direction of the AssistantHeadteacher (SENDCo and Inclusion), you will workwith colleagues, students, and their parents/carers to build strong, positiverelationships to enable all students to fulfil their potential. You will beambitious for the success of all students and will establish an environmentwhere high expectations and targeted support are fully embedded.

Thisrole is central to ensuring that students who are unable or struggling toaccess the full mainstream curriculum are supported to remain engaged inlearning and make strong academic progress. You will work with students in ourInclusion Workroom, supporting them to complete curriculum work, developindependence and overcome barriers to learning.

Inaddition, you will deliver targeted English support to small groups of studentsin Years 9-11, helping them to build confidence and secure key skills.

We arelooking for someone who:

• Has experiencesupporting students with SEND and/or SEMH needs
• Has strong literacy skills and confidence supporting English learning
• Buildspositive relationships and has high expectations for all learners
• Can create acalm, structured and purposeful learning environment
