A West Bromwich-based engineering business is seeking a Workshop Engineer to service, repair and overhaul AC/DC motors in a busy workshop. This hands-on role requires strong fault-finding skills and a solid mechanical and electrical background.

The role involves reading engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, testing performance, maintaining records and adhering to health and safety. Overtime is available and the position offers long-term stability and development.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working with AC/DC motors in a workshop environment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge.
• Experience with motor rewinding is desirable but not essential.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Service, repair, and rewind AC/DC electric motors.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults effectively.
• Strip, inspect, and rebuild motors and rotating equipment.
• Carry out testing to ensure performance and reliability.
• Work from engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Maintain accurate job records and ensure high-quality standards.
• Adhere to workshop health & safety procedures.
