Job summary

ABB Ltd in Birmingham, West Midlands, seeks an Automated Paint Engineer with proven ABB robot systems experience to support and optimise the automated paint operation. You will operate, maintain and program ABB IRB 5510 robots, adjust paint parameters and assist with paint mixing, preparation and quality control.

Applicants should have at least 3 years in automated industrial painting, strong fault-finding skills on robotic paint systems, and a track record of reducing waste and downtime while

Qualifications

• Hands-on ABB IRB 5510 paint robot experience required.
• Solid experience in paint mixing, preparation and process control.
• Minimum 3 years in automated industrial paint environments.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and support ABB IRB 5510 automated paint robots.
• Adjust robot programs and optimize for coverage, quality and cycle time.
• Prepare paints, thinners, hardeners to spec and maintain batches.
• Troubleshoot paint mixing, application and robotic issues.
• Support colour changes and line changeovers, cleaning and flushing.
• Contribute to maintenance, documentation and CI objectives.
