Job summary

ABB Ltd. is seeking an Automated Paint Technician for its Birmingham operations. You will operate and maintain ABB IRB 5510 paint robots, adjust programs, optimize coverage and cycle times, and ensure precise paint preparation and mixing in a fast-paced production environment.

The role requires hands-on robotics experience, strong process control skills, and collaboration with Engineering, Production and Quality teams to maintain high standards and CI goals.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with ABB IRB 5510 paint robots.
• Strong paint mixing, preparation and process control experience.
• Ability to fault-find on automated paint and robotic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and support ABB IRB 5510 automated paint robots.
• Adjust robot programs and optimize to improve coverage, quality and cycle time.
• Prepare paints, thinners and other materials per specifications.
• Monitor paint batches, viscosities and application parameters.
• Support colour changes and line changeovers; assist with CI activities.
• Maintain technical documentation and robot programs.
