ABP Food Group Newry site is seeking Abattoir Operatives to work from 7am, Monday to Friday, on site in Newry, UK. This permanent, full-time role requires flexibility to work additional hours to meet customer demand and offers a great working environment.

You will be involved in meat processing with focus on health and safety, animal welfare, cleanliness, and meeting production goals. Training will be provided to develop new skills in a supportive setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to work on own initative whilst working as part of a team, striving to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Previous experience in a food production environment is desireable but not essential.

Responsabilités

• Process cattle in line with health, safety and animal welfare standards.
• Work as part of a team to ensure humane and ethical processing according to welfare regs.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment.
• Meet production goals and work to complete tasks on time.
• Perform quality inspections to ensure meat products meet food safety standards.
• Learn knife skills and meat processing techniques.
• Follow PPE and safety protocols.
• Undertake duties as required in a safe manner.
• Engage in training and development as required.
• Duties per training/licensing, including evisceration and trimming.
• Maximise yield and minimise waste.

Job Role:

We require Abattoir Operatives to work on our Newry site. Working from 7am, Monday to Friday, this role requires flexibility and willingness to work additional hours to meet customer demand. the team are seeking skilled, motivated and enthusiastic individuals who are keen to work in this area with the opportunity to develop and learn new skills with a great working environment.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• You will be responsible for the processing of cattle in accordance with health and safety and animal welfare standards on a variety of positions.
• You will contribute as part of one team to ensure that cattle are processed in a humane and ethical manner following Animal Welfare regulations, Food Safety legislation, and customer specification.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment following all safety regulations and procedures.
• Meet production goals and work as a team to ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Perform quality inspections on meat products to ensure they comply with food safety standards.
• Continuously learn and improve knowledge of knife skills and meat processing techniques.
• Follow strict health and safety protocols, including the use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
• You will be required to undertake such duties as required in a safe manner.
• You will also be required to fully engage in all aspects of training as required.
• You will be responsible for the following duties in accordance with individual training and licensing as applicable: stunning, hoisting, sticking, bleeding, legging, flanking, rodding, electrical stimulation hide removal, brisket saw, eviscerationm spitting saw and prepartory trimming.
• As a meat processor worker, you will be involved with the production of meat products for consumption as such personal hygiene is extremely important and you will be expected to pay close attention to this along with other regulations.
• You will be rsponsible for maximising the yield of the product and minimising waste to ensure production is as efficient as possible.

Skills:

• Ability to work on own initative whilst working as part of a team, striving to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Understanding the food safety and quality control is vital to ensure the safety and quality of the products being processed.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to team efficiency through job rotation and flexible duties.

Knowledge and Experience:

• Previous experience in a food production environment is desireable but not essential.
