Job summary

ABP FOOD GROUP is seeking Production Operatives to join the Abattoir team at our Lurgan site. This permanent, full-time role suits individuals who thrive in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment and enjoy working as part of a team.

Full training will be provided to all employees to progress skills and earnings. You will help produce meat products for leading supermarkets, adhering to safety, hygiene, and quality standards while contributing to overall production yield.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a food production environment is desirable.
• The ability to demonstrate knife skills for the skilled roles or willingness to learn in semi-skilled/trainee roles.
• Good communication and timekeeping are important.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring carcasses are dressed and trimmed according to ABP and Customer specifications.
• Meeting production deadlines and maintaining safety and hygiene standards.
• Seeking training to advance skills and maintain best practice.
• Working as part of a team and taking responsibility for own work.
• Carrying out procedures in a safe manner and reporting faults to supervisor.

We are currently looking for Production Operatives to join our successful team within the Abattoir. Candidates will be ideally suited to a fast paced food manufacturing environment and able to work as part of a team.

As an Abattoir Operative you will be involved in the production of meat products for leading supermarkets. Full training will be given to all employees with minimum experience to enable them to progress their skills and earnings.

Team Members will be responsible for:

• Ensuring carcasses are dressed and trimmed according to ABP and Customer specifications as directed by the Abattoir Manager/Supervisor
• Ensuring work is carried out to the best of operative's abilities to meet production deadlines
• Seeking training to maintain skills and remain up to date with best practice
• Ensuring that all parts of the carcase are trimmed to produce optimum production yield while adhering to legislation and company requirements
• Working as part of a team and taking responsibility for own work
• Carrying out all procedures in a safe manner in accordance with training
• Always complying with company policy and procedures on safe food handling and hygiene
• Maintaining responsibility for operational effectiveness of equipment and machinery and report faults to supervisor in a timely manner
• Maintaining personal PPE
• Carrying out any other reasonable duties assigned

To become a team member ideally you will have:

• Previous experience in a food production environment is desirable
