Kepak St. Merryn in Merthyr Tydfil is recruiting Ancillary Operatives for a full-time, permanent role at our busy manufacturing site. Shifts start at 5:30am or 6:00am with flexible finish based on production needs. The starting hourly rate is £12.90.

This position involves slaughtering-related tasks, precision preparation of meat, and working in a cold, raw-meat environment. You will be part of a team ensuring quality and safety in production.

Formación

Kepak St. Merryn in Merthyr Tydfilhas combined beef and lamb processing and packing facilities. We offer beef and lamb products ranging from retail ready cuts for butchers’ counters to branded packaged meat, all as part of our service; raised on open pastures, sourced from local farmers and hand-selected by our master butchers, we produce beef and lamb products with integrity and unmatched quality assurance.

We are currently recruiting for Ancillary Operatives to work in our busy manufacturing site in Merthyr Tydfil.

This is a full time, permanent position working either a 5.30am or 6.00am start with a flexible finish time depending on the production requirements. With an hourly rate starting at £12.90 per hour.

Role Purpose

Work in slaughtering, performing precision functions involving the preparation of meat. Work may include specialized slaughtering tasks, trimming offal to required specs and dressing animals to required spec.

Role Requirements

• Cut, trim, skin, sort, and wash viscera of slaughtered animals to separate edible portions from offal.
• Clean materials to prepare them for production.
• Process animal carcasses.
• Eviscerate, and trim carcasses of slaughtered animals.

• Trim, clean, or cure animal hides.
• Skin sections of animals or whole animals
• Remove offal and prep ready for further processing
• Prepare meat products for sale or consumption
• Dress carcasses to correct spec
• Remove feet, ears and horns
• Complete general tasks within the abattoir
