Staffline is recruiting Abattoir Hygiene Operatives for a pork-processing and abattoir site. The role is full-time with fixed shifts from 9am to 5:30pm and pay at £13.09 per hour, with overtime at £19.64 per hour and a £100 attendance bonus each month.

You will be responsible for cleaning production machinery, sanitising equipment, removing waste, washing down work areas and following hygiene and food safety procedures, with COSHH-compliant chemical handling and PPE provided.

Qualifications

• Ability to clean equipment and work areas thoroughly.
• Spot hygiene risks, contamination, or areas that have been missed.
• Follow cleaning schedules and procedures accurately.

Responsabilités

• Cleaning production machinery.
• Sanitising slaughtering and processing equipment after use.
• Removing animal by-products, blood, fat, and other waste materials from machinery.
• Washing down work areas including floors, walls, drains, conveyor belts and workstations.
• Using pressure washers, foaming systems, and approved cleaning chemicals.
• Following hygiene and food safety procedures and SOPs/SSOWs.
• Handling chemicals in line with COSHH requirements and wearing PPE.
• Collecting and disposing of waste materials and keeping waste areas clean.
• Manual handling up to 25kg.

Your Time at Work

As a Abattoir Hygiene Operative you will be responsible for:

Cleaning production machinery

- Sanitising slaughtering and processing equipment after use.

- Removing animal by-products, blood, fat, and other waste materials from machinery.

Washing down work areas

- Cleaning floors, walls, drains, conveyor belts, and workstations.

- Using pressure washers, foaming systems, and approved cleaning chemicals.

Following hygiene and food safety procedures

- Working to strict food safety regulations and site hygiene standards.

- Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Safe Systems of Work (SSOWs).

Chemical handling

- Safely using cleaning chemicals in line with COSHH requirements.

- Wearing and maintaining appropriate PPE.

- Collecting and disposing of waste products correctly.

- Ensuring waste areas remain clean and organised.

Please note, there will be large amounts of manual handling (up to 25kg).
