Job summary

Ace Centre North in Oldham is seeking an AAC Assistant Practitioner to support a multi-disciplinary team across health, education and social care settings. This fixed-term 12-month role focuses on developing AAC resources, configuring voice output devices and training others to use them, helping clients achieve communication goals.

You will work with AAC Consultants and engineers, travel across the North West, and may require overnight stays.

Qualifications

• Experience in education, health or social care settings.
• Knowledge of AAC and assistive technology solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage time and prioritise workload effectively.

Responsibilities

• Prepare communication equipment and materials for demonstration and loan to clients.
• Provide training for clients and carers on programming and maintenance of equipment.
• Assist with installation of client equipment and training after assessment.
• Provide onsite/telephone and remote implementation support after initial assessment.
• Maintain client and equipment records on relevant databases.
• Develop and deliver client-focused training materials.
