Job summary

The Recruitment Crowd is recruiting on behalf of our client in Crawley for several 7.5 Tonne Driver (Cat C1) roles. You will move palletised or loose parcels to customers, with tail-lift loading and unloading.

Shifts are Mon-Fri starting 09:30. Pay is £16.05 per hour PAYE. This temp-to-perm role requires C1 entitlement, CPC, Tachograph card, and a clean licence, with emphasis on safety, paperwork accuracy, and professional customer interactions.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with C1 entitlement.
• 12 months experience and driving in a distribution environment.
• DCPC and Digital Tachograph card (where applicable).
• No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
• Full understanding of Working Time Directive (WTD).
• Excellent communication skills and a safety-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Securely move and transport palletised or loose parcels to customers or businesses.
• Handle heavy loads up to 80 kg and manage up to 30 drops per day.
• Unload and load using tail lift on palletised goods.
• Maintain accurate paperwork and drive safely at all times.
• Interact with customers and represent the company professionally.

Hours: Monday to Friday 09:30am Start.

Pay Rate: £16.05 per hour PAYE

The role

• Securely moving and transporting palletised or loose parcels to customers or businesses.
• Packages will be heavy (up to 80kg weight).
• Up to 30 drops per day.
• Drivers will be required to unload and load - trucks will be fitted with tail lift for palletised goods.
• Focusing on safe driving and maintaining accurate paperwork.
• Interacting with customers and representing the company in a professional and courteous manner.

Requirements

• Full UK driving licence with C1 entitlement (7.5 Tonne).
• 12 months experience required.
• Be comfortable with heavy lifting and handballing.
• Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
• Full understanding of WTD legislation.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A safety-first mindset.
