Job summary

The Urban Driver Apprenticeship at The DX Group offers a 15‑month programme to learn all aspects of professional driving and to gain a Category C1 (7.5t) Licence, with a view to a full-time 7.5t Driver position upon completion.

Apprentices will perform non-driving duties, receive comprehensive training, and work alongside daily duties including office tasks, warehousing, and driver mate responsibilities. CPC licences will be obtained as part of the programme in line with legal requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ and have a minimum of 12 months UK driving experience.
• Category B licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Represent DX in a professional manner at all times
• Carry out all tasks required as part of the apprenticeship training
• Drive vehicles in a safe and legal manner ensuring compliance with all legal and company requirements at all times
• All daily checks are undertaken ensuring defects are immediately reported and correct paperwork completed
• Ensure all products are scanned using DX scanning equipment
• Ensure all deliveries are loaded safely prior to leaving the depot
• Observe DX procedures and policies at all times
• Manage routing to ensure premium and timely deliveries are achieved
• Ensure the correct equipment and PPE is in good order and used at all times
• Delivery issues are reported to the traffic office promptly
• Deliveries are received by customers in excellent condition
• Handle customer issues politely and effectively
• Ensure collections are made as instructed and on time
