Job summary

Manpower is recruiting for a 7.5t Driver in Southampton. The role offers ongoing temporary work with varied shifts and an hourly rate of £17.29–£25.86.

You will safely operate 7.5t vehicles between distribution centres and delivery locations, with responsibilities including checks, loading/unloading, and paperwork. Applicants should have a UK C1 licence, Driver CPC and Tachograph, and at least 2 years of 7.5t driving experience in logistics.

Qualifications

• Valid UK C1 driving licence.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• No more than 5 penalty points and no serious driving endorsements.
• 2 years driving experience with 7.5t in logistics or distribution.
• Strong knowledge of UK road transport legislation and vehicle safety.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Professional, reliable and customer-focused; able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate 7.5t vehicles on planned routes.
• Transport mail, parcels and freight to delivery locations.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Load and unload vehicles safely and secure goods.
• Complete delivery paperwork and electronic records.
• Work independently while communicating with operations team.
• Follow road transport legislation and health & safety policies.
• Handle multiple drops per shift per route.

What you'll be doing

• Safely operate 7.5t vehicles on planned routes between distribution centres and delivery locations.
• Transport mail, parcels and freight efficiently while meeting delivery schedules.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects in line with company procedures.
• Load and unload vehicles safely while ensuring the security of all goods.
• Complete delivery paperwork and electronic records accurately.
• Work independently while maintaining excellent communication with the wider operations team.
• Follow all road transport legislation, health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Multiple drops per shift, depending on route assigned.
