Job summary

DPD UK is seeking a reliable, tech‑savvy 7.5 Tonne Driver for a local route at our Carlisle depot. You’ll manage around 40–50 stops daily, ensuring accurate deliveries and excellent customer service using Saturn handheld devices.

With a clear routine and opportunities for progression, you’ll be part of a sustainability‑driven team that values reliability and professional conduct on every shift. A CPC and 7.5 Tonne licence are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid 7.5 Tonne (C1) licence with CPC accreditation.
• Prior experience driving 7.5 Tonne vehicles (preferred).
• Physically active and able to handle lifting and loading tasks.
• Professional, approachable and safety‑minded in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Drive and own a designated local route with 40–50 stops per day.
• Use Saturn handheld devices for route navigation and deliveries.
• Interact with customers to provide a positive delivery experience.
• Load and unload parcels using appropriate equipment.
• Maintain safety, efficiency and punctuality in all deliveries.

We’re looking for someone to take the wheel and own a designated local route. You aren’t just moving boxes; you’re the final boss of the delivery game, ensuring every parcel hits its destination with 10/10 service. With around 40 - 50 stops a day, you’ll be the ultimate problem-solver, navigating your community and making life easier for our customers. Your role is vital in providing a service that genuinely makes a difference to our customers.

• Drive the Vibe: Get behind the wheel of a 7.5 Tonne vehicle. You’ll be cruising local routes, keeping it safe, professional, and efficient.
• Master the Tech: No paper maps here. You’ll use our industry-leading Saturn handheld devices. It’s basically your mission control for tracking progress, managing deliveries, and staying ahead of the game.
• The Main Character Energy: You’re the friendly face our customers see every day. Whether it’s a quick "hello" or a helpful drop-off, your energy defines the DPD experience.
• The Hustle: You’ll be loading and unloading parcels, using high-end gear like sack barrows and hand trucks to handle the heavy lifting safely. Think of it as a paid workout while you're on the move.
