Job summary

The Best Connection Group is seeking experienced 7.5T and Class 2 HGV drivers for regular, temporary ongoing work across Ashford and Gillingham. You will operate in a two‑person delivery team with a porter, handling multi‑drop routes and heavy lifting where needed.

Shifts start at 7am, 8am, 9am or 11am with weekend work preferred. Competitive hourly pay varies by location and vehicle type, with overtime and weekend rates as listed.

Qualifications

• Valid 7.5T (Category C1) or Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.
• Valid Driver CPC and Tacho Card
• Previous commercial driving experience.
• Physically fit and able to perform heavy lifting.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Weekend availability is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Driving a 7.5T or Class 2 HGV vehicle to complete multi-drop deliveries.
• Delivering DIY, building and home improvement products to commercial and domestic customers.
• Loading and unloading goods alongside a driver's porter.
• Carrying out heavy lifting and manual handling throughout the working day.
• Ensuring deliveries are completed safely, accurately and on time.
• Completing delivery paperwork and checking orders.
• Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks and reporting any defects.
• Maintaining a clean and tidy vehicle.

Are you a 7.5T or Class 2 Driver looking for regular work and competitive pay?

We are currently recruiting experienced

7.5T and Class 2 HGV Drivers for a well-established company delivering high-quality DIY and building products to commercial and domestic customers across Kent.

These are hands-on, multi-drop delivery positions where you will be working as part of a two-person team alongside a porter to complete deliveries safely and efficiently.

If you're a reliable driver with a good work ethic, excellent customer service skills and don't mind getting stuck in with some heavy lifting, we'd love to hear from you!

Pay Rates

Pay varies depending on your location, vehicle category and shift worked.

7.5T DRIVER - ASHFORD / GILLINGHAM

Monday-Friday: £14.43 per hour

Overtime (after 8 hours): £21.65 per hour

Saturday: £21.65 per hour

Sunday / Bank Holiday: £28.86 per hour

CLASS 2 DRIVER - ASHFORD

Monday-Friday: £16.35 per hour

Overtime (after 8 hours): £24.52 per hour

Saturday: £24.52 per hour

Sunday / Bank Holiday: £32.69 per hour

CLASS 2 DRIVER - GILLINGHAM

Monday-Friday: £17.12 per hour

Overtime (after 8 hours): £25.68 per hour

Saturday: £25.68 per hour

Sunday / Bank Holiday: £34.24 per hour

Shift Patterns

Start times of 7am, 8am, 9am or 11am.

Flexibility to work across different start times is highly desirable.

Weekend availability is preferred, particularly Saturdays and Sundays.
