Job summary

Northumberland County Council is seeking a HGV Driver - Refuse Vehicle to support clean streets and efficient recycling services. This permanent, full-time role operates on a 4-day week with a focus on safety and service quality.

The role involves driving a large refuse fleet, maintaining vehicles and equipment, and leading a small team of staff while delivering excellent customer service to the community.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid Class 2 HGV licence.
• Experience driving large heavy goods vehicles.
• In-cab technology experience is desirable but training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Drive refuse and recycling collection vehicles to schedule, maintaining safety and service standards.
• Take responsibility for vehicle use, maintenance, and allocated equipment.
• Lead a small team of Refuse Collection staff and oversee operations.
• Ensure efficient collection services with excellent customer service.
