Job summary

V.Group is seeking a Third Officer for a containership, contract starting mid‑November. You will report to the Master and Chief Officer and act as the designated officer for lifesaving (LSA) and firefighting (FFA) appliances while maintaining a safe navigational watch and handling mooring operations.

The role requires ensuring life-saving gear, lifeboats and extinguishers, are ready per SOLAS, and preparing vessel documentation for port arrivals and departures, including maintenance of signaling

Responsibilities

• The Third Officer acts as the designated officer for lifesaving (LSA) and firefighting (FFA) appliances, ensuring all safety equipment, including lifeboats and extinguishers, remains in a constant state of readiness per SOLAS requirements. Reporting to the Master and Chief Officer, this role involves keeping a safe navigational watch, managing mooring parties, and handling the accurate preparation of vessel documentation for port arrivals and departures. The officer also maintains critical visual and sound signaling apparatus, such as flags, lights, and halyards
