Job summary

V.Group is seeking a Third Officer for a containership, mid-December start, contract role aboard ship. The officer is responsible for lifesaving and firefighting equipment, SOLAS-compliant readiness, and safe navigational watch.

You will assist with mooring, vessel documentation for port calls, and maintain signaling gear. Reporting to the Master and Chief Officer, this role requires strong safety awareness, teamwork at sea, and adherence to voyage procedures.

Responsibilities

• The Third Officer acts as the designated officer for lifesaving (LSA) and firefighting (FFA) appliances, ensuring all safety equipment, including lifeboats and extinguishers, remains in a constant state of readiness per SOLAS requirements.
• Reporting to the Master and Chief Officer, this role involves keeping a safe navigational watch, managing mooring parties, and handling the accurate preparation of vessel documentation for port arrivals and departures.
• The officer also maintains critical visual and sound signaling apparatus, such as flags, lights, and halyards
