Job summary

RG Setsquare is seeking an experienced 360 Excavator Operator to join our civils team on Gloucestershire sites. You will operate 360 excavators safely and efficiently, reading site plans and following supervisor instructions to deliver groundwork tasks to a high standard.

Key duties include pre-start checks, excavation, trenching and earthmoving, maintaining a clean work area, and completing site documentation in line with health and safety rules. A valid CPCS/NPORS and CSCS card are required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating 360 excavators on civil sites.
• Valid CPCS or NPORS certification is required.
• CSCS card or site access passport where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate 360 excavators of various sizes and attachments.
• Carry out excavation, trenching, grading, loading and earthmoving.
• Follow site plans, drawings and supervisor instructions.
• Perform daily pre-start checks and report defects.
• Work safely around other plant and personnel on site.
• Assist with general groundwork duties when required.
• Maintain clean and safe working area and complete site paperwork.

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced and reliable 360 Excavator Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating 360 excavators safely and efficiently across a range of construction and groundwork projects. You will work closely with site managers, groundworkers and other plant operators to ensure work is completed safely, accurately and to the required standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate 360 excavators of various sizes and attachments.
• Carry out excavation, trenching, grading, loading and earthmoving activities.
• Follow site plans, drawings and instructions from supervisors.
• Conduct daily pre-start checks and report any defects or maintenance issues.
• Operate machinery safely in accordance with site rules and company procedures.
• Work safely around other plant, workers, underground services and members of the public.
• Assist with general groundwork duties when required.
• Ensure excavated materials and waste are handled and positioned correctly.
• Maintain a clean and safe working area.
• Complete relevant paperwork, inspections and site documentation.
• Comply with all health and safety, environmental and company policies.

Requirements

• Proven experience operating 360 excavators on construction or civil engineering sites.
• Relevant CPCS or NPORS certification.
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Ability to read and follow site plans and instructions.
• Reliable, punctual and professional approach to work.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A valid CSCS card or relevant site access requirements where applicable.
• Full UK driving licence is desirable.

Desirable Experience

• Experience working on civil engineering, groundwork, utilities or infrastructure projects.
• Experience operating different excavator sizes and attachments.
